Diploma in Remedial Massage (HLT50307)

Remedial Massage involves the use of massage therapy and a wide range of diagnostic techniques to treat a variety of ailments pertaining to the musculoskeletal system. A remedial massage practitioner has the ability to provide a comprehensive treatment plan based on their ability to determine the underlying cause of many musculoskeletal problems.

Students undertaking Diploma of Massage (HLT50307) with Global Fitness Institute will be taught to deal with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems utilising basic and advanced massage techniques such as trigger points, sports injury treatments, myofascial release and lymphatic drainage. A strong emphasis is placed on anatomy, basic pathology, as well as symptomatology and diagnosis.

Certificate IV in Massage (HLT - 40307) is a prerequisite for this course, students who have not previously completed Certificate IV will need to include those units in their studies. There are 15 units of competency to qualify for the Diploma in Massage (including an additional 15 units if the student has not yet completed Certificate IV).

This highly comprehensive course is part of the Nationally Recognised Health Training Package HLT07. The Diploma of Massage is delivered over a 6 month period if only completing Diploma units, or a 12 month period if completing Cert IV and Diploma units, with flexible delivery modes.

Course length may also be considerably shortened by successful application for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), for those who have completed prior studies in related fields and/or have relevant industry experience.

The Diploma of Massage is delivered via face to face lectures where minimum student numbers permit, or via
mixed mode. Mixed mode entails a combination of theory via correspondence learning, and practical workshops.

Diploma of Remedial Massage is delivered via face to face lectures and correspondence, as a mixed study mode.

Mixed mode entails a combination of theory via distance learning, and practical workshops.

Theory Modules will be provided in electronic booklets (via CD or email), to be completed at home, or in class where applicable.

All participants will receive electronic (via CD or email) course manuals, session notes, and access to online assessment and learning materials.

Upon completion of this qualification, you will be issued with
-    a certificate indicating the following;
•    This is to certify that ‘your name’ has fulfilled the requirements for HLT50307- Diploma of Remedial Massage
-    a statement of attainment listing all completed units
-    10% discount if the student enrolls in another course with Global Fitness Institute within 12 months
